What Is Derby SandsDerby Sands is a branch of the national Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support Charity. We are a group of mums and dads from all over Derbyshire who have all experienced the devastating loss of one or more of our babies and we have come together to offer one another support, comfort and hope for the future. If you have found yourself in the heartbreaking situation of losing your precious baby then we are here for you. Your baby may have been stillborn or may have died within a few minutes / hours of being born. He or she may have been born prematurely or at full term and may have been admitted to a neonatal unit and died several days, weeks or even months later. It may be that your baby died at an earlier gestation or that you had to make the difficult decision to end your pregnancy. You may have taken your baby home and then they died due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or underlying medical problems. It doesn’t matter at what stage of pregnancy or how long after birth your baby died, we are here to offer you support and information. As well as supporting mums and dads, we are here to help other members of your family. Many people may be touched by your baby's death, including friends and health professionals, and everyone is welcome to contact us.You may not want anything from us right away. We are here to help whenever you feel you need it. That may be right now, in a few weeks or months or even years.Derby Sands CommitteeChairperson: Lou Evans, Secretaries: Jayne Seagrave and Matt Evans, Treasurer: Lou EvansOther members: Angeline Attenborough, Katherine Collins, Lisa Morgan, Lorna Reeve, Gabi Stenson, Ashley Smith and Kate StantonDerby Sands befrienders: Lou Evans, Ashley Smith, Kate Stanton and SamCharity registration number 299679
